Episode Breakdown
Episode One: In Your Home
Explore an entire world teaming with life, right inside your own home. While you might think your home is clean, you'll soon find out that clean is just a relative term. You'll see the thousands of tiny creatures that exist on everything you touch, even the soap in the bathroom. From dust mites to bed bugs, we’ll show you an entire set of “pets” that you share your home with, whether you like it or not.
Episode Two: Backyard Bugs
Journey even farther into a world of micro creatures as we learn about the life forms that exist right outside your back door. Some deadly to humans, and some helpful. We peer into the life of the “water bear” or tardigrade. An organism that can be completely dried up for years and can come back to life with just a drop of water. These strange little beings have even survived the extremes of outer space, making us curious about their origin.
Episode Three: On Your Body
From head to toe, there are hundreds of different species
living off the human body. Some are permanent residents, other just
visitors. From Demodex mites that nestle into the follicles of your
eye lashes to head lice that can lay thousands of eggs. Our bodies
are an entire ecosystem themselves. We'll show the relationships we
have with these tiny symbiotic creates and how they affect our
daily life.
Episode Four: Food Pests
Here we explore the creatures that live on the foods we prepare. Whether we are at home, on the farm or at the grocery store, from cheese mites, mealy moths, cockroach larva, fruit flies, wireworms all survive on the everyday items we eat.
Episode Five: Aliens Inside
Erie tales of worms, flukes and maggots that spend time inside our
bodies—what they do and how they get there. Some are harmless
enough but most are not.
Episode Six: Micro Organisms
In this episode, we go smaller and even deeper into the
world beyond the naked eye. We explore the life cycles of molds and
microbes. Inside the stomachs of the smallest insects lies an
entire ecosystem. We learn about the symbiotic relationships
between the creatures we’ve studied in earlier episodes, and their
paradisiac counterparts.
